WIA

This article is about WIA in Category:Military acronyms. See also Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) for the image scanner API.

WIA is a three letter abbreviation meaning wounded in action. It is used to describe soldiers who have been wounded whilst fighting, but have not been killed. Typically it implies that the soldiers cannot fight for an extended period (otherwise they would not be listed as WIA).
