ABC2 is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's new digital-only television channel launched on March 7, 2005, with the first program (Landline) beginning at 6:25am. The channel features time-shifted repeats from ABCTV and new content, notably children's programs and sport.
According to the ABC's website, the channel is automated, allowing for no live programming or news, through they still manage to fit in more current affairs than ever before.
