Balham tube station is a station on London Underground's Northern Line between Clapham South and Tooting Bec stations and was opened in 1926 as part of the Morden extension of the line. The station is in Travelcard Zone 3. Regional rail services also run from Balham railway station next door.

On October 14, 1940, during World War II, a bomb exploded above the station, with the blast penetrating into the tunnel 9 meters below. The water mains and sewage pipes were broken, causing flooding and the loss of 68 lives.
