Baritone saxophone

The baritone saxophone, one of the larger members of the saxophone family, was invented by Adolphe Sax. To create the sound a baritone saxophone makes, an extra loop was added near the mouthpiece. This type of saxophone is tuned in the key of E-flat. Gerry Mulligan and Pepper Adams were two masters of the baritone sax.

Lisa Simpson, from the televison show "The Simpsons", plays the Baritone saxophone.

The saxophone family ranges from sopranissimo, sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, contrabass, and subcontrabass.
