Gawker.com is a blog based in New York City which focuses on celebrities, chiefly those in the media, with a supposedly funny, sarcastic voice. As the flagship blog for Nick Denton's Gawker Media, it's the most successful nanopublishing venture to date. That success spawned two other similar blogs, Wonkette and Defamer, covering Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, respectively.
Gawker is currently edited by Jessica Coen, and past editors have included MediaBistro's Editor-in-Chief, Elizabeth Spiers, and Choire Sicha.
