Coastal management
Coastal management is the process of managing a coast either with hard engineering or soft engineering.
Hard engineering is the use of hard features such as (man made features) revetments and sea walls whilst soft engineering is the use of soft features as off shore breaks and jettys. Coastal management can also be mixed as both soft and hard engineering with natural features such as wood in groynes, which is hard engineering.
