Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) is a conservative graduate-level theological seminary located in Dallas, Texas, which has been, according to its mission statement, "equipping godly servant-leaders for the proclamation of His Word and the building up of the body of Christ worldwide" since its founding by Lewis Sperry Chafer in 1924.
DTS has earned a popular reputation as a school whose central study is the Bible, and a critical reputation as a school rooted in dispensationalism. With extension campuses in several other cities (and online education offered for some courses), DTS "prepares graduates to do the work of evangelism" while "discipling other believers and equipping them to do the same".
Some of the more well-known DTS graduates include:
- Ken Boa (Reflections Ministry)
- Tony Evans (The Urban Alternative)
- Howard Hendricks (DTS Professor)
- Chip Ingram (Living on the Edge, Walk Thru The Bible)
- David Jeremiah (Turning Point)
- J. Vernon McGee (Thru The Bible)
- Dennis Rainey (Family Life)
- Andy Stanley ([1] Author, Pastor of NorthPoint Community Church)
- Chuck Swindoll (Insight For Living)
- Joseph Stowell (Proclaim, Moody Bible Institute, President 1987-2005)
- Ken Taylor
- Bruce Wilkinson (Founder, Walk Thru The Bible)
