Denis Lawson

Denis Lawson (born September 27, 1947), is a Scottish actor, best known for his role in the film, Local Hero.

Lawson was born in Perthshire. His career has spanned stage, television and film. He has starred in the West End and in television dramas such as Rock Follies (1976), Dead Head (1986) and That Uncertain Feeling (1985). During filming of the latter, he met his future wife, actress Sheila Gish. They lived together for nearly twenty years before marrying in 2004; she died a year later. He is the uncle of Ewan McGregor. Lawson is also noted for small roles in the Star Wars films, as fighter pilot Wedge Antilles. He reprised the role, in voiceover form, in the Nintendo GameCube game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2.
