DJ big band
A DJ big band is a large musical ensemble made of a large number of DJ's. Some of them will play the rhythm, others the melody.
The first and still only known DJ big band is DJ Grazzhoppa's DJ big band formed in 2003. In the first version of that band, they were 6 DJ's and a saxophonist (Fabrizio Cassol, a production of arts centre nOna (from Mechelen, Belgium) in co-operation with arts centres Vooruit (Ghent, Belgium) and Villanella (Antwerp, Belgium). On January 27, 2005, they played La Monnaie with 12 DJ's plus Fabrizio Cassol and singer Monique Harcum from Zap Mama. Arts centre nOna is now preparing an international tour of DJ Grazzhoppa's DJ Big Band & Vizual Vectorz.
