Dooce
Dooce is the pseudonym of Heather Armstrong (July 19, 1975 - ), a humorist who resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Armstrong (nee. Hamilton) grew up in Tennessee, and majored in English at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
In 2002, Hamilton ignited a fierce debate about privacy issues when she was fired from her job as a web designer for writing parodies of her experiences at a dot-com startup on her weblog, Dooce.com. The headlines gave rise to the slang expression "dooced": "to lose one’s job because of one’s website."
Armstrong returned to Salt Lake City, where she writes on the topics of pregnancy, parenthood, web design and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She has appeared on National Public Radio and ABC Radio National, and has been interviewed by the New York Times.
