Apple's DVD Studio Pro allow users to create DVD Masters to send out to production houses. Its tight integration with the other Apple Studio Apps makes it a very favorable choice for Studio Professionals. The defining feature of Apple's DVD Studio, ease of use and versatility not withstanding, is its ability to take raw Final Cut and Motion Projects and render them in DVD format without encoding into an Intermediary format. This allows Creative Professionals to streamline their workflow, and it allows them to operate with less overhead.
In April 2005, Apple Computer updated its version of DVD Studio Pro to support authoring HD content. DVD Studio Pro allows for the burning of HD-DVD content to both standard DVD's and HD-DVD media (even though no burners are available). For playing back HD-DVDs burnt onto a standard DVD, Apple requires a PowerPC G5, Apple DVD Player v4.6, and Mac OS X v10.4 or later.
