Erich Jantsch was an Austrian astronomer who wrote the book The Self-organizing Universe: Scientific and Human Implications of the Emerging Paradigm of Evolution, which was published in 1980. This book was influential among proponents of new approaches to science like holism, co-evolution, and self-organization. It was used extensively in Ken Wilber's philosophy book Sex, Ecology, Spirituality: The Spirit of Evolution.
