Plot overview

Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

Max Kirkpatrick is an excellent cop who takes it to himself to protect the lovely Kate McQuean, a civil law attorney, from a renegade KGB team out to terminate her. He first meets her in the police station after she is shot at. After her apartment blows up the next day, he takes her to a police safe house with his partners. Even that is ambushed. This KGB team is technologically advanced to say the least, and they can track anything from pay phone calls to credit card purchases. One of Kirkpatrick's earliest quotes in the movies is, "These guys are serious."

After a few of his cop friends are killed, Kirkpatrick decides he will do everything and anything to keep McQuean safe; becoming lovers, and foiling a huge crime are just bonuses.

Reaction

Being Cindy Crawford's first movie role, it didn't do badly in the box office, taking in 11 million, but it was killed by critics who said her acting was despicable. Others rushed to see it simply for a revealing scene involving Crawford. It was considered enjoyable by most, but many called the acting "bad." It was also an early role in William Baldwin's career.
