Gangster Disciples
The Gangster Disciples (also Black Gangster Disciples and a number of other regional variations) is one of the largest street gangs in the United States, with membership numbering over 30,000 in Chicago alone. Originally formed in the south side of Chicago, they still have a wide presence there and in other midwest cities. Their affiliation is with the Folk Nation.
Symbols used by the Gangster Disciples include a six pointed star (Star of David, although there is no connection to the Jewish symbol), crossed pitchforks, and a heart with wings and a tail.
The Gangster Disciples are known to be involved in about $100 million a year of drug trafficking.
