Glencolmcille

Glencolmcille is a coastal town located on the southwest Gaeltacht tip of County Donegal, Ireland. Once famous for being the parish of forward thinking Father McDyer. Many natural beauties lie nearby: Slieve League Cliffs; Silver Strand of Malin Beg; and Glen Head itself. The town has a petrol station, grocer, post office, oideas gael (Irish school for Irish and Visitors), folk village, woolen mill, restaurant and three pubs (great fiddle music often to be found in Roartys or Biddys). The coast road across to Malin Mor via the Glen Hotel is majestic and now passes the new golf course, which is hoped to bring tourist back in the numbers they had once come.
