"Hemodynamics is concerned with the forces generated by the heart and the motion of blood through the cardiovascular system. It is at once a body of theory and an experimental science, to which physicists and mathematicians have contributed equally with physicians and physiologists." - William R. Milnor, Preface of Hemodynamics (1982).

This law is important in terms of respiratory dynamics. The fluid (air) movement is most affected by any object or obstruction/swelling that reduces the internal diameter of the airways. Most hypoventilation is the result of elastic forces vs. flow or the lack of same.
