Himalayan states

Himalayan states is the name given collectively to all the countries/states which contain the mountain range of the Himalayas.

This definition includes the following countries and regions:

• Nepal
• Bhutan
• Tibet (located in the People's Republic of China)
• The following states of Northern India:
  • Arunachal Pradesh
  • Nagaland
  • Tripura
  • Manipur
  • Meghalaya
  • Mizoram
  • Sikkim
  • Himachal Pradesh
  • Jammu and Kashmir
  • Uttaranchal
  • The Darjeeling district of West Bengal

Buddhism and Hinduism are the main religions in the Himalayan region.
