HMS Arab (1901)

H.M.S. Arab (1896 - 1897 Programme) Laid down by J & G Thomson at Clydebank and completed by John Brown & Co. who took over the yard, ran 9 trials between 11th March 1901 and 27th May but only succeeded in reaching 30.5 knots. Three thousand pounds were abated for failure to reach contract speed, the actual price paid being £63,642. 1*12 pounder, 2 torpedo tubes. Complement 69. Served in home waters, disposed of in 1919.
