Kristiania

In the period 18781924, Kristiania was the name used for Norway's capital Oslo (having been called Christiania since 1624). According to law of 11 July, 1924, the name was changed to Oslo, effective January 1 1925.

The older part of Kristiania which until 1925 held the name of Oslo was renamed Gamlebyen.
