Lara (kryptonian)
Lara, wife of Jor-El and mother of Kal-El, was a discreet charachter in the saga of "Superman". Jor-El had designed the rocket ship for both her and Kal-El but she insisted that her extra weight might jeopardize the safety of her son. So, against her husbands will she sent Kal-El off alone and stayed on Krypton to face her demise.
