Little Torch Key
Little Torch Key is a small island, one of the Florida Keys. It is located between Mile Marker 30 and Mile Marker 27 on US1 (also known as Overseas Highway), the only major road connecting the Keys to Mainland Florida. It is immediately preceeded to the northeast by Big Pine Key, and is followed by Middle Torch Key to the southwest.
A very small island 25 miles from Key West, Little Torch Key is home primarily to locals, living and working from Big Pine to Key West. The island is also host to visitors who don't mind a commute to the popular destination of Key West. There are a few, but not many businesses on the island, including restaurants and lodging.
Its most likely claim to fame is as a relatively frequent fishing destination for US President Harry S. Truman.
