THE LODHI CLAN / TRIBE / ANCESTRY
THE LODHI FAMILY
The Lodhi family name belongs to a race of people known as the Pathans. The name is commonly double-barreled with the title of Khan. A typical Lodhi's surname is titled thus: as "Khan Lodhi" or "Khan-Lodhi", others may prefer to keep the surname "Khan" or "Lodhi". It is important to note that a Khan might not necessarily be of the Lodhi tribe.
THE LODHI DYNASTY
The Lodhi dynasty is well known across India, the most famous ruler was the great Ibrahim Lodhi.
LOST TRIBE OF ISRAEL
It is said that only true Pathans descending from one of the Lost tribes of Israel can be termed Pathans, and Lodhi's are just one of these tribes. It should be noted that the Afghans of Afghanistan are not Pathans, they belong to other ethnic groups.
