Malaysian hip hop

The Malaysian hip hop scene started in the late 1990s. One of the pioneer hip hop groups was Too Phat which consist of Malique Ibrahim and Johan Ishak. They were signed to EMI Malaysia's Positive Tone division and produced their first hit, "Whutadilly". Other hip hop groups slowly emerged in the scene, such as 4U2C and KRU.
