Medical social work

Medical Social Work is a sub-discipline of social work. Medical social workers typically work in a hospital setting, have at least one graduate degree in the field (Masters degree in Social work (MSW) or MSSW), and work witn patients and their families in need of psychosocial help.This ranges from emotional support to social support and to helping patients access to other resources and assistance.

MSW can also stand for a Master of Social Work degree.
