Medieval university (Asia)

Medieval universities have existed in Persia notably the Academy of Gundishapur and in the Near East, such as the Islamic university in Cairo.

One of the most important Asian universities was Nalanda, in Bihar, India, where the second century Buddhist philosopher Nagarjuna was based.
