Mel Giedroyc

Mel Clare Sophie Giedroyc (born June 5, 1968 in Epsom, London) is a British television presenter, actress, and writer. She is married with two children. Her book, From Here to Maternity, is the diary based on her first pregnancy. Her sister, Coky, is a TV Director.

Giedroyc is best known for presenting comedy items alongside Sue Perkins. The two met whilst students at Cambridge, Mel being a student of Trinity College, and were both members of the famous comedy club Footlights. Their television breakthrough was on the French & Saunders television show, and have often been compared to Dawn and Jennifer. Together, they hosted a lunchtime show on Channel 4 called Light Lunch, and an early evening version, Late Lunch.

Giedroyc has also been a presenter on Channel 4's RI:SE. Her latest venture was as a contestant on the 2005 series of The Games.
