Minnesota Zoological Gardens

The Minnesota Zoological Gardens (almost always called the Minnesota Zoo) is a zoo in Apple Valley, Minnesota, the sister zoo of the Como Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul. Compared to Como Park, which is an older zoo primarily designed around display of the animals, the Minnesota Zoo's exhibit design is primarily centered around habitat replication. Its exhibits are arrayed in five themed areas, including three themed walking trails ranging from one to two miles in length:

Minnesota Trail, featuring animals native to Minnesota
Northern Trail, featuring animals of the north (from areas above the 45th parallel)
Tropics Trail, an indoor walking trail featuring animals from areas in the tropics
Discovery Bay, an activity area themed around marine wildlife, including the zoo's five dolphins, Rio, Semo, Ayla, Spree and Chinook
Family Farm, as its name suggests, is a petting zoo themed around farm animals.
