North of England

The North of England , also the North country or simply The North, is a term which strictly refers to any part of Northern England north of a line from the Humber to the Dee estuaries. Its usage has come to mean especially those parts most affected by the industrial revolution and most especially the 19th century industrial towns in the counties of Yorkshire, Lancashire, Durham and Northumberland.
