Ornamental plant

An ornamental plant is a plant species or cultivar that is grown in gardens and parks for its beauty (in its end use), rather than commercial or other value. For example a homeowner may grow landscape plants to beautify his home area, or a flower garden for cut flowers or for simple enjoyment. Ornamental plants include houseplants and plants used in outdoor gardening or landscaping. Commercial growers of ornamental plants are called horticulturists.
