Peter Short
Peter Short is the current Moderator of the United Church of Canada.
He was elected Moderator in 2003 and his term expires at the United Church of Canada's 39th General Council in the summer of 2006.
Short was born July 22, 1948 in Kingston, Ontario and grew up in Arnprior and Braeside, Ontario. In 1978, he graduated from Emmanuel College in Toronto, Ontario and was ordained by the Maritime Conference of the United Church of Canada. Prior to being elected as Moderator, he served in a number of congregations in eastern and northern Canada.
