The Cutleaf groundcherry (Physalis angulata), also known as wild tomato, camapu or winter Cherry and several other names, is an annual herb. It has a wide distribution. It is a member of the nightshade family Solanaceae.
The leaves are dark green and roughly oval, often with tooth shapes around the edge. The flowers are five sided and pale yellow. The yellow-orange fruits are bourn inside a ballon-like calix, and can be eaten.
