Pterodactyl

Pterodactyl (wing finger) is a common term for the pterosauria, especially the smaller bodied, long tailed varieties.

Pterodactyls in pop culture

• French comic book artist Jean 'Moebius' Giraud has featured pterodactyl-like creatures which appear to be made of concrete in several of his works, including Arzach and The Incal.

• The pterodactyl, or rather the pteranodon, is the power source of the Pink Ranger in the televsion series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. It is unclear whether the creature is a female pteranodon.

• Petry in the Land Before Time films is cleary a pterodactyl, and so is Pterri on Pee Wee's Playhouse

• In the Mac OS X game Nanosaur, the player takes the form of a Pterodactyl
