Biography

She was born in Southgate, London; her estranged father Michael Stevens is notable for producing a guide to the best places to solicit prostitutes in London. Her mother is Linda Stevens.

She rose to prominence as part of the pop group S Club 7 (later S Club), managed by Simon Fuller.

Following the split of S Club, Stevens began a solo music career with singles and an album released through late 2003 and 2004. Despite the success of her first single "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex" (written by Cathy Dennis), initial sales of her debut album were not as high as expected. In July 2004, a repackaged album was released with additional tracks, notably Richard X's "Some Girls", which became her second solo hit.

She was engaged to Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards, but they split up.
