Ray Lloyd as Glacier

Ray Lloyd is a professional wrestler better known as Glacier from his days in World Championship Wrestling.

Career

Ray Lloyd started wresting in 1991 as Sugar Ray Lloyd. He wrestled in the Georgia independents and Japan's UWFI promotion. He teamed with former college football teamate R.D. Swain as "The Blazers".

He arrived in World Championship Wrestling in 1996 as Glacier. He was part of the "Blood Runs Cold" gimmick that did not survive the introductory vignettes. His actual in-ring debut didn't occur until 1997 as the Blood Runs Cold angle was scrapped. He feuded immediately with Mortis. In June, Mortis got a partner, Wrath, and started double teaming Glacier. He was rescued by 3-time karate champion Ernest Miller who started teaming with him in the feud.

In late 1997, Glacier was injured by Bill Goldberg during a match and was out for several months.

He returned in late 1998 but Miller did not want his help anymore.

He wrestled singles and eventually sickened of the Glacier gimmick and "sold" his Glacier outfit to Kaz Hayashi in 1999. He became Coach Buzz Stern and his protege was Luther Biggs.

In 2000, he made a few appearances as Glacier during Norman Smiley's matches but left WCW for Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling soon after that.

He wrestled under his real name while in TCW and won the Heavyweight Title and the Tag Team Titles. He teamed with Jorge Estrada and feuded with Scotty Anton. In 2001, he won the NWA Tag Team Titles with Jason Sugarman but only held them for 1 day. In 2002, he rejuvinated his Glacier gimmick to team with Big Ron Studd and they won the TCW Tag Team titles again.

When TCW stopped running shows in 2003, Lloyd went to wrestle in Georgia Championship Wrestling where he can still be found at times today.

His main profession as of 2005 is being a Social Studies teacher at Lassiter High School in Marietta, GA. He is also a stuntman at Disney World.
