Rhizoid

Rhizoids, in fungi, are small branching hyphae that grow downwards from the stolons that anchor the fungus. They release digestive enzymes and absorb digested organic material.

Rhizoids, in bryophytes, are root-like structures that anchors the plant to the ground.
