Ptichka (Buran 1.02) is a space shuttle that was created by the Soviet Union. It was the second of the five space shuttles from the Soviets, the first being Shuttle Buran. The name Ptichka means "little bird" in Russian. Construction started in 1988 but the project was never finished even though of Buran shuttles it was the closest to being completed (after the Buran 1.01) when the program was officially canceled in 1993. Its first scheduled flight in was in 1993 to the Mir Space Station but the mission never gained fruition. The Buran and Ptichka shuttle series are now being auctioned at 4-50 million dollars a piece.
Ptichka is currently the property of Kazakhstan at the Baikonur Space Port in the MIK Building.
