Skin depth

Skin depth is a geophysical term used in seismic exploration. It is the depth to which a certain propotion of energy of a wave is left.

These formula allow the skin depth to be calculated for a particular frequency wave, for a particular conductivity material:

Amplidute at depth = Starting amplitude * e^-1 Skin depth = 503.8(conductivity * frequency)^-1/2
