Soil conservation

Soil conservation refers to techniques used to prevent soil being lost or harmed by overuse, erosion, salinization etc.

Techniques recommended by the U.S. Natural Resources Conservation Service include:

• windbreaks
• terracing
• cover crops
• contour plowing
