Solesmes

Solesmes is a town and commune of the Sarthe département, in France. located near Sablé.

The abbey St-Pierre-de-Solesmes, founded in 1010, is a Benedictine abbey. It is best known for its cultivation of the Roman Catholic liturgy and in particular Gregorian chant.
