Stand and Deliver (1988) is a film dramatizing the work of Jaime Escalante, a dedicated East Los Angeles, California high school mathematics teacher. In the film, he helped 18 Hispanic students learn calculus well enough to pass the Advanced Placement exam, even though originally many of them were having trouble with multiplication and fractions.

Edward James Olmos starred as Escalante, with Lou Diamond Phillips, Vanessa Marquez, and Carmen Argenziano.
