StarHub Limited (SGX: T54) is an info-communications company in Singapore. Incorporated on 7 May 1998 when the telecommunications sector was liberalised, the company was awarded the license to provide basic telecom and mobile cellular services.
In 1999, it acquired CyberWay Private Limited, and hence becoming an Internet Service Provider. A year later, it was awarded the Public Telecommunications License, and was henceforth officially launched. In 2002, the company entered the cable TV business when it merged with the sole cable TV operator, Singapore Cable Vision, and also aquired its cable modem-based Broadband Internet access operations to supplement its existing dial-up access plans.
Almost all households and offices in Singapore are connected to the StarHub network, which now offers an increased number of channels on digital TV. StarHub now also provides broadband Internet access, and mobile and land line telephony services.
