Teacher's Pest
"Teacher's Pest" is a science fiction short story by Orson Scott Card. It is a prequel to Card's Ender's Game series, and tells of the first meeting of Ender's parents.
It can be found in the book First Meetings.
While studying at a university in the US, John Paul Wiggin attends a class taught by Theresa Brown on Human Communities. John Paul falls in love with her, when he realises she is smarter than him; something he views to be a rare occurrence.
They notice that with their combined knowledge, they could accomplish quite a lot in their world. They both felt the oppressive boot of the Hegemon upon them. John Paul for his non-compliant Catholic family, Theresa for her retired non-compliant legendary military theorist father: Admiral Brown.
