Terrist

Terrist (less commonly terraist) is a neologism referring to environmentalists who engage in actions considered by some to be terrorism, (eco-terrorism) including violent destruction of property as well as various types of nonviolent direct action.

The word is a portmanteau of Terra, Latin for Earth, with the word terrorism.

Some radical environmentalists may feel that their crimes which hamper certain activities are morally justified in that they prevent a greater crime, such as the destruction of the planet.

Additionally, terrist has been used as a phonetic representation of how some English-speakers, notably United States president George W. Bush, sometimes say the word terrorist.
