Trojan Records
Trojan Records is a label specialising in reggae and ska. It was founded in 1968 and was named after the Leyland trucks painted with "Duke Reid - The Trojan King Of Sounds" on the sides. These were used to transport heavy sound systems around Jamaica. The company has since branched out into more modern styles including jungle. A fairly recent idea was the release of three-disc genre-specific CD box-sets with 50 tracks per set.
These include:
- Trojan Ska Box Set (TRBCD 001 Z - UK, TRBCD 001 - EXPORT)
- Trojan Ska Box Set volume 2 (TRBCD 014 Z - UK, TRBCD 014 - EXPORT)
- Trojan Rocksteady Box Set (TRBCD 003 Z - UK, TRBCD 003 - EXPORT)
- Trojan Dancehall Box Set (TRBCD 023 Z - UK, TRBCD 023 - EXPORT)
- Trojan Skinhead Reggae Box Set (TJETD 003)
