Trunk

In English the word trunk has a number of uses.

A trunk (botany) refers to the main structural member of a tree that is supported by and directly attached to the roots and which in turn supports the branches.
In anatomy trunk is another word for torso, which in the human body is the body without the head, arms and legs.
A elephant's trunk is that creature's elongated nose-like organ.
In American English, an automobile trunk is a compartment used for storage space, usually placed at the rear of a car. The Commonwealth English equivalent to this word is car boot.
