Universiti Teknologi Malaysia started as a technical university and is widely known with the abbreviation UTM. The main campus is in Skudai, which is the first university located in the state of Johor. It has an area of 1222 hectares, whereas the branch campus is located in Kuala Lumpur with an area of 18 hectares.

UTM was given university status in 1972 and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia was officially established in 1975.

Campus
The main Campus in Skudai is ideally located almost centrally between the city of Johor Bahru and the Sultan Ismail Airport of Johor Bahru. Regular flights are available from our capital Kuala Lumpur. You can also get connecting flights from Sultan Ismail Airport to Kuching, Miri and Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia.
