Yamatokoriyama, Nara

Yamatokōriyama (大和郡山市; -shi) is a city located in Nara, Japan.

As of 2004, the city has an estimated population of 94,417 and the density of 2,212.20 persons per km². The total area is 42.68 km².

History

The city was founded on January 1, 1954.

Economy

Many makers' factory will be invited to a southern Showa area around from the 1960s, and it is famous also as an industrial complex.

Moreover, culture of a goldfish is also famous. In the Edo period, samurais began to cultivate the goldfish as a side job. Even now, the vestiges continue.The share of goldfish industry is top class in Japan. However, in recent years, it is beginning to decline from the shortage of a successor.
